2018 Tasting Australia: Henschke Mount Edelstone Masterclass

Share:

Tasting Australia continues its quest to shine light on South Australia’s finest vineyards and takes great pride in presenting a very special tasting showcasing one of our most significant sites.

The dry grown, ungrafted Mount Edelstone vineyard, now in its 106th year, has produced this single-vineyard Henschke wine since 1952 and sits comfortably alongside the iconic Hill of Grace as the finest wines of this sixth-generation family winery that celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

This is an extremely rare opportunity to taste ten vintages ranging from the current release of 2013 all the way back to the terrific vintage of 1986 of this exceptional shiraz with winemaker Stephen Henschke, his viticulturist wife Prue and their family, and discover just what it is about this particular site in the Eden Valley and the biodynamic practices used to manage it, that produces a wine of such staggering beauty.
