Description

Pale straw with lime hues. Beautifully perfumed aromas of clover blossom, gooseberry and stone-fruit are complemented by hints of lemon peel, melon and tropical fruits. A textural and balanced palate of citrus and nectarine is supported by subtle nuances of gooseberry and lemon thyme, with crisp acidity for a focused and vibrant finish.

A vibrant, semillon-based blend with chardonnay and various aromatics; there’s a wealth of white peaches and lemon citrus with bright, mouthwatering fruit. A blend of mostly semillon and sauvignon with a hint of pinot gris, chardonnay and riesling.

Vintage Description

Extremely heavy winter rainfall and ferocious spring winds and hail shaped one of the most challenging vintages we have ever experienced at Lenswood. Flowering was late, occurring in December in rare calm and sunny weather, which generated good yields. The Eden Valley region also experienced the winds and slightly higher rainfall than the Barossa Valley; these conditions also delayed flowering, however the mild summer and regular rainfall events that followed allowed the grapes to reach full physiological maturity. By Easter, all Adelaide Hills and Eden Valley whites were safely in the winery and in excellent condition after careful handpicking and sorting. The 2017 vintage will be characterised by impeccably floral and vibrant white wines, an indicator of the slightly cooler conditions in the Adelaide Hills and Eden Valley regions.
