Discover treasures of the Barossa on an extraordinary tour with two of its founding families.

This Tasting Australia event offers a rare day of dedication, passion, knowledge and respect for the environment. You’ll stroll in country air, sharing wine and food while exploring heritage Eden Valley vineyards. Meet revered winemakers Stephen and Prue Henschke. Share stories with the legendary John and Jan Angas. Be fed by star chef Paul Baker.

The experience will begin at the Henschke Cellar Door, where you will meet the family at the heart of their winemaking establishment. Next you’ll travel to Gnadenberg Church alongside the Henschke Hill of Grace vineyard. John and Jan Angas will guide you past Ronald Angas’s 1912 shiraz plantings, the fruit for Henschke Mount Edelstone and the catalyst for these two families becoming entwined as neighbours, collaborators and friends.

Experience the Barossa’s living food heritage with canapés and Henschke Johanne Ida Selma Blanc de Noir sparkling before walking up a gentle hill to share riesling – the region’s ultimate white wine – with Baker’s perfectly matched food. Hear stories of local challenges and rewards alongside the Hutton Vale Farm classified Barossa Old Vine vineyard.

A longer stretch-out will see you amble past family shiraz vineyards to the Mt Edelstone peak, with 360-degree views of northern Eden Valley. Savour the penultimate tasting, a shiraz trio of Hill of Grace, Hutton Vale Farm and Mount Edelstone.

You’ll then wander back down the hill to Hutton Vale Farm for a relaxed Barossa lunch. Expect a generous table of food, a special selection of family wines and live music. This is life as a true Barossan.

To keep your day relaxed and stress-free, there is an option to have a chauffeured vehicle for the day, picking you up, available throughout the day, before returning you home. Enquire for pricing events@henschke.com.au
